![]() MUSICAL THEATER is alive and well. At the recent NAMT (NATIONAL ALLIANCE FOR MUSICAL THEATER) festival, kATHY EVANS, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR presented 8 stage readings of new works. My favorites - included: "It Shoulda Been You",about getting married to the other guy with a SURPRISE twist. "Factory Girls" a historial story of 1843 set in the fabric mills of Lowell, Massachusetts with a lead singer, Carrie Manalatos, and "Iron Curtain", a spoof kidnapping of two Broadway writers forced to write a musical for Russia. Someone should write a musical called "8 Musicals in Two Days". |
