BREAKFAST AT TITAN at 5 am in the moring took place at the American Museum of Natural History were we watched the press conference coming from Europe from ESA, the people that created the Titan probe, which landed on the moon of Saturn. NEIL TYSON, Director of the Hayden Planetariu, Astrobiologist David Grinspoon, and Laura Danly, astrophysics Director of education ,all spoke. Most of the questions came from the 10-year olds in the audience who wanted to know about the methane lakes that the HUYGENS-CASSINI space creaft revealed. (Huygens lived in 1696 and wrote "Cosmotheris") We even heard the space sounds which were relayed and the photos which showed a coast line similar to California and strange cloud formations on the moon The kids asked about the magnetic field, the tidal forces, seasons, the ice rocks, and more about the ethane and methane. Then we all marched into the Hayden Planetarium to see the photos in the round. What a morning that was. |
