FARM SANCTUARY GALA is one of the most important events I have attended.



MARY TYLER MOORE, Gala Chair showed a documentary on how the farm animals are treated. The chickens have their beaks cut off- don't you think that hurts? They stand in a space 12" wide, can move, turn around, never see the sun, can't socialize and the same for the cows. Some are so sick they can't event make it to the slaughter house. Except for one - LIBERTY jumped over the fence and was saved by a woman who took him home. I cried all evening. But, I wasn't the only one.



LINDA BLAIR was there; PETER MAX was there with his wife, MARY MAX, who was an award recipient.

Farm Sanctuary is a national, non- profit organization combating factory farming cruelty through research and investigative campaigns, hands-on rescue and shelter, legal and legislative actions, and public awareness projects.Their shelters in NY and California are home to hundreds of animals rescued from abuse cases.
